Looking for volunteer opportunities with Widoktadwen Center for Native Knowledge? We have several ways for you to lend your time and talents!
If you are interested in any of the following volunteer opportunities, email amanda@widoktadwen.org and indicate what you are interested in. There may also be opportunities for internships in these areas if there is interest.

Knowledge Keepers
Local Indigenous folks are invited to volunteer to share your cultural knowledge with our local community.
Do you practice a traditional Native American art? Are you a storyteller? Do you hold knowledge of plant medicines? Do you teach a Native language? Do you cook Native American dishes? Are you an expert in local wild foods? We want to connect with you!
Share your knowledge through our Firekeepers Youth Program, community events, or special programs. Because they live outside traditional tribal communities, many urban Natives lack local opportunities to connect with Indigenous knowledge and community. Help us grow the cultural knowledge of our widoktadwen (community).

Bookkeeping/Accounting
Do you have a background in finance and/or accounting and want to volunteer your skills? We’re looking for someone to help us with accounting and financial advising for our small nonprofit.
Grant Writing
We can always use skilled volunteers who can whip up a strong grant proposal and help us secure additional funding.
Marketing/Social Media
Are you a social media master and a whiz at marketing? We could use someone with the skills to help take our social engagement to the next level. We need someone who can be a voice for our organization and get the word out about the awesome work we do.
Trail Maintenance
We will be scheduling work days to clean up the trails on the property of Zion Spies Lutheran Church. No dates are scheduled yet, but if this sounds like a job right up your alley, let us know so we can reach out with trail work days when we have them scheduled.
Event Ambassadors
We need volunteers to staff our community outreach tables at several upcoming events. We’ll teach you how to tell people about our organization and you’ll interact with table visitors, giving them handouts/resources, and encouraging them to sign up for our email list to stay informed. We will need volunteers for the following events:

Volunteer Day & Community Dinner 1-3 pm
310 Spies Church Road, Reading, PA 19606
Saturday, April 5, 2025
